Ultimately, the show did make the move to UPN and WB refused to let Angel crossover with Buffy. Despite her threats to quit, Michelle Gellar did appear as a cast regular for all of season six. Despite her anger, Buffy protected Faith when the Special Ops forces had tried to take her in and showed no overt desire to kill her. What’s so wrong about having two character have a sexuality other than “100% completely straight”. And before anyone says anything, I don’t want Buffy to be gay, I don’t think that fits in her character either, but Buffy has shown with two different girls that she is at least sexually opened. And again, that is debatable with Faith even, but it certainly isn’t with Satsu.
This caused Cordelia to make a wish that Anya granted that Buffy had never come to Sunnydale which had caused her to die in that universe but before that she admitted that things had been better when Buffy was there. Despite this, she showed Buffy occasional acts of kindness such as physically defending Buffy when she was weak, immediately agreeing to drive a distressed and weakened Buffy home with no complaints and helped fight against the Mayor. Upon Buffy’s reunion with Angel in Los Angeles, she had asked Cordelia how she was and Cordelia had nervously replied she was fine, soon after leaving Angel and Buffy alone. Cordelia accused Buffy of being immature and selfish for thinking she could have both Angel and still save the world.
Plus, when compared with Drusilla — who is a legendary “Buffy” villain and also a very fun paring with Spike — Harmony just doesn’t pass muster. She’s undoubtedly a hoot, but there’s just no chemistry between her and Spike. Cordelia is a confident, brash, fast-talking young woman and Wesley is a bumbling dork, so it’s no wonder this couple doesn’t work out in the end. Angel’s father had low expectations of his drunkard, whoring son when both were alive. Liam felt somewhat guilty for his behavior, but remained reluctant to change; after he was sired by Darla, he rose as Angelus and murdered his family, including his father. Upon the restoration of his soul, Angel would later admit to Buffy that he still wondered if his father became so antagonistic as a result of his own failure as a son. When Fred was resurrected after the restoration of magic, although shocked to see her again, Angel was clearly grateful to have an old friend back as he set out to determine the reason for her rebirth. The two eventually reconcile when Angel saves her life after she attempted to commit suicide for losing her job at the L.A.P.D.. Forced to open up by Cordelia, Angel admitted to her that he missed Doyle and believed it should’ve been him that saved him and died in his place.
